Braham Javidi lecture "Multidimensional Optical Sensign and Imaging Systems (MOSIS)"

10/03/2023

This seminar provides an overview of recent research on rapid automated disease identification using cost-effective field portable bio-photonics systems. It focuses on analyzing blood cells with multidimensional digital holographic systems, employing statistical and deep learning algorithms to automate disease detection. The seminar highlights applications of digital holography for swift COVID-19 diagnosis and introduces innovative bio-photonics sensors, including 3D printed thin lensless sensors with pseudo-random phase encoding. Notably, self-referencing holographic systems offer superior stability and portability compared to conventional setups. The presentation includes experimental results demonstrating the effectiveness of these tools in healthcare settings, paving the way for advanced disease identification through dedicated algorithms and bio-photonics sensor advancements.

Firujiciència

07/04/2022

Participation in Firujiciència (The fair is held every year the Thursday before the Easter school holidays, on the campus of the Universitat Jaume I). Firujiciència is the fair of the science at Universitat Jaume I, where student from all the levels before University, but also undergraduate and graduate students, and researchers (training and senior) make science experiments and demonstrations to all the audience, at the sport facilities of the Universitat Jaume I. It is an attractive opportunity to popularize science to a very varied audience, but with a very important focus on early childhood and Primary and Secondary School students.
